Waterfront

Yesterday was Earth Day! So to celebrate, I spent the day creating “earthy” cards and projects in my craft room.  I love stamp sets that have nature images likes trees, flowers, birds, etc. Although I do enjoy being outside in my flower garden in the springtime, I typically plant flowers that come up year after year. I do not have a green thumb, that is for sure! In fact, the only time I have a green thumb is when it gets full of ink. Ha!

So let’s talk about how to create this card. Start with a piece of Wild Wasabi cardstock for the base of the card. You can really use any green cardstock you have on hand. I chose Wild Wasabi because I wanted to use it before it retires! Yes this is one of the colors that will be retiring in May.

Start by stamping the tree image across the bottom of the card front using Wild Wasabi ink. By using the same color ink as the cardstock, it creates a subtle background on the card. Next, cut the following cardstock using the measurements provided:

  • 3 x 3 inches – Whisper White
  • 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 inches – Wild Wasabi
  • 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches – Soft Suede

Stamp all of your images on the white cardstock. Work from the bottom up. Start by stamping the friend sentiment, then the water, then the mountains, then the trees and sun. The ink colors, from bottom to top, are Early Espresso, Pool Party, Soft Suede, Wild Wasabi, and Crushed Curry.
