All it takes is just a “pop” of color to give this beautiful patterned paper a whole new look! The Petal Passion Designer Series Paper has some absolutely gorgeous black and white patterns. The paper definitely is beautiful just as it is but adding a bit of color expands the creative possibilities!
Just think about how many different ink colors you have on hand…you could recreate this card in each of those colors. How fun is that? So before I tell you how to make this card, let me show you the inside…
The card is actually a z-fold card! It’s my favorite type of fun fold card to create because it’s quick and simple! Start with a piece of cardstock cut to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inches. Score the 8-1/2 inch side at 2-1/8 and 4-1/4 inches. The 2-1/8 inch flap folds away from the inside of the card and becomes the focal point on the front of your card. Cut a 1-7/8 x 5-1/4 inch piece of designer paper; for this card I used the flowery pattern from the Petal Passion DSP pack. Sponge a bit of Soft Sky ink on all of the flowers and then adhere the DSP to the card as shown. For the inside of the card, cut a 2 x 5-1/4 inch piece of the polka dot DSP. Be sure to use a pattern that is different from the front pattern. Choose a bold or “busy” pattern for one of the panels and then choose a second pattern that is more subtle so that you get a nice contrast. Add a layered sentiment to the front flap of the z-fold card. For this card, I used some layering circles and a doily. Stamp some fun images on the circles and the inside of the card. For the finishing touch, embellish with some pearls. That’s it! Super fun!
Oh, and one more thing…keep in mind that it is Stampin’ Up! retirement time! Just about everything I used to create this card will be retiring….the doilies…the Petal Passion DSP….Soft Sky. Yes, soft sky is one of the retiring colors.
