Had a blast at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage event this past weekend! So many fabulous NEW products and exciting news! The biggest piece of news we received involved a color revamp! And it’s a big one! Thirteen colors are retiring, 6 colors are returning and we are getting 10 brand new colors!! Let me break it down for you.
First, let’s talk about the retiring colors. The following colors are retiring on May 31, 2018:
While it’s always hard to say goodbye to our favorite colors, I am pretty sure you will love the new colors that will be taking the place of these.
These colors will retire May 31, 2018 so be sure to shop for your favorites at http://www.lynndunn.stampinup.net
Keep in mind that these retiring colors will only be available while supplies last so don’t wait too long if you have your eye on some.
So let’s talk about the new colors you will see in the annual catalog:
Why the change? Well, Stampin’ Up! makes a point to keep an eye on color trends across different markets and industries. When they see changes happening, they review our current colors to ensure we remain consistently on top of the trends. Based on their research, they decided it was time to revamp some of the colors.
These new colors fall into the following color collections:
You will notice that there are changes to each color collection with the biggest change occurring in the neutrals collection. So are you wondering what happened to Black, White and Very Vanilla? We still have these colors but they have been moved out of the Neutrals collection and are in a collection called the Basics.
You might have also noticed that we have some returning colors! Yes, these are colors that are coming out of retirement! And I am super excited about that!
And last, but not least, we have the In Color Collections! The 2017-2019 collection which is in the current catalog and the NEW 2018-2020 In Color collection! These collections stay with us for 2 years so, in essence, we have fresh new colors to play with every year! Let’s take a look at these:
And if that isn’t enough excitement, let me throw one more thing at you! Besides the color revamp, the actual ink pads have been redesigned! Here are some of the fun features:
- A new case with a more intuitive design. Opening the new ink pad case is now more simple and intuitive—just insert your thumb in the lip at the front of the case and lift it to open. It reminds me of a makeup compact case. Super cool!
- The ink pads are also stackable! The ability to stack the cases makes them easier to store and transport. There are little nubs in each bottom corner that fit nicely into the dimple on the top of another case.
- Have a tighter fit between the lid and the base. With the new design, the lid doesn’t accidentally become disconnected, which was a common problem with the old case style. With use, the lid will be easier to slide open and close.
- Improved labels and stickers. Here are a few of the changes:
- The top label now has a cleaner, bolder design and a larger color swatch, making it easier to see the ink’s color.
- The stickers include a new In Color icon.
- We will still have color stickers that can be placed on the end of each case to easily identify the ink’s color at a glance.
- There are also stickers for the inside of the stamp pad that display the color of the ink you are working with. That means you will always know what ink color you have open without having to look at the side of the pad.
How fun is that? I know this is a lot of information to take in but I find it super exciting! I hope you do too! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions!
Sounds awesome!! Cant wait for the new catalog to come out!
You will love the new colors and the new ink pad design! So simple to open
