Myths and Magic is one of the many fabulous products suites in the 2018 Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog. This product suite caught my eye because of the glitter, the colors and adorable little images. The stamp set, washi tape, patterned paper and, of course, the colorful glimmer paper make this product suite super fun to play with. It’s the perfect suite of products for creating a variety of fun cards for kids. My grandson was attracted to the dragons right away! Of course I was attracted to the mermaid images.
The Myths & Magic Designer Series paper has a variety of different shimmery images. It’s one of those patterned papers that I had a hard time cutting up! So I decided to use the Stitched Shapes framelits to cut out the images in the paper. As you can see, I used a variety of different shapes to capture as many images as I could from the paper (only a few are pictured above). By using the framelits, I was able to create some adorable accents for my cards. Let’s take a look at one of them.
For this card, I used Bermuda Bay and the Lemon Lime Twist colors. I started with a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock for the base of the card. I cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of Lemon Lime Twist and a 5 x 3-3/4 inch piece of Watercolor paper. I started with the watercolor paper and an aqua painter. Using Bermuda Bay ink and the aqua painter, I simply created a watercolor wash for the background. Once it was dry, I added a 1-1/4 x 5 inch piece of the green colored paper (one of the patterns in the Myths & Magic DSP pack) and a 1/2 x 5 inch piece of the green glimmer paper to the bottom of the card. I stamped a few bubble images using Bermuda Bay ink and then added some of the glittery epoxy accents. The Mermaid image is matted on a scalloped circle cut from a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock. Then I simply added the sentiment. It’s a fun little card to make! I hope you enjoy it!
