Coloring can be a very relaxing and rewarding activity. There are times where I like to spend time coloring my stamped images and there are other times when I need the instant gratification of putting together a card quickly! Today’s project is one of those relaxing coloring moments that I had this past weekend. While my 5 year old grandson was coloring in his book, I was coloring my designer paper.
Lately, one of my favorite coloring tools are the new Stampin’ Blends. These are alcohol based markers that are perfect for blending and shading. There are 12 different colors with two shades of markers for each color: a light and a dark. The Stampin’ Blends have been very popular! If you don’t have the blends, you can always use your regular markers or your ink with a blender pen.
For this card, I used the following Stampin’ Blend colors: Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive. Start with a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of Daffodil Delight and a 5 x 3-3/4 inch piece of the Just Add Color Designer Series Paper (DSP). I chose the pattern with the flowers and watering cans but you can choose from 6 different designs in the pack. Then…simply colors in the images. Once you have the images colored, add a bit of ribbon across the bottom and embellish with a little sentiment. It’s a fun card to make and it turns out sooo pretty! I hope you enjoyed it!
