Hippity Hoppity Easter’s on it’s way! Hello Friends! I can’t believe how fast this year is flying by! I feel like we just celebrated the new year but here we are almost at the end of February! That means it’s time to start working on some Easter cards! This year there are two stamp sets in the Occasions catalog that caught my eye for Easter. The Sweet Little Something and the Hold onto Hope stamp sets. But for today, I will share an adorable little card created with the Sweet Little Something set.
Yes, the sweet little something is an adorable bunny! There is a three-step stamping process to achieve this look but it’s worth it! Now it does take a little practice. My bunny is not as “crisp” as the one featured in the catalog but I was going for a more subtle look so I used just one color ink. To create a more defined and bolder look, you can play around with different shades of ink (like different shades of brown). I used the “stamp off” technique to create different shades of the Crumb Cake color ink.
To create this card, start with a piece of So Saffron or Daffodil Delight cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of one of the patterned papers in the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper pack. Cut a 2-1/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of blushing bride cardstock. Adhere these two pieces together. Cut a paper doily in half and then cut each half in half again so that you have 4 pieces. Adhere two pieces on the top and two pieces on the bottom of the backside of the blushing bride cardstock. Adhere the doilies towards the left and right sides (leave the middle open). Stamp the bunny image, using the three different images, on a piece of white cardstock. There is a fabulous step by step picture in the Occasions catalog that shows you how to stamp the images. Once you have stamped the bunny, use a large circle framelit to cut it out. Then add a large scalloped circle behind the bunny, to serve as a matte. Adhere a full doily to the center of your cardfront and then adhere the bunny image with a few dimensionals. For the finishing touch, embellish it with a little Easter sentiment.
