Have you ever bought some patterned paper that was so pretty you just couldn’t cut it up? Me too! There are some patterns that just weren’t meant to be cut into little strips to fit on a card. That’s the problem I had with the new Sweet Soiree Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. There was one particular sheet of this patterned paper that was so pretty, I decided to cut out the little cake designs to use as embellishments on my card.
Doesn’t this cake make a beautiful little accent on the card? And it was simple to cut out too. Wanna re-create it? Well let me tell you how. Start with a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 3 x 4-1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and emboss it with the Petal Pair textured embossing folder. Stamp a little sentiment on the white cardstock. Cut a 3-1/4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of Powder Pink cardstock for a matte. Wrap a bit of silver baker’s twine around the white cardstock and adhere to the card front as shown. Oh, and don’t forget to tuck a little piece of a doily on top before you adhere it to the card front. Add a little 1/2 x 4-1/4 inch piece of DSP on the bottom to coordinate with the colors on the card. Then embellish it with the beautiful cake image you cut from a piece of the Sweet Soiree DSP. Enjoy!
