This past weekend I held my annual Birthday Bash card making event. It’s one of my favorite events to start off a new year! We made 10 quick and simple cards. Each card took less than 10 minutes to make. It was super fun! There were two cards, in particular, that got a lot of ooohs and ahhhs at the event. The cards were created with products from the Birthday Memories Suite. The bright colors and nostalgic images in this suite make you want to create lots and lots of birthday cards!
See what I mean? This super cute little card has a lot of bright and fun colors. And, best of all, it was super simple to create! Start with a piece of Real Red cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of the balloon patterned paper in the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Cut a 1 x 4 inch strip of the multi-color striped pattern. Adhere the striped pattern piece to the bottom of the the balloon DSP piece. Adhere the entire piece to your Real Red card front. Cut a 1-1/2 x 4 inch piece of Real Red cardstock and stamp a little sentiment on the left side using black ink. Adhere it across the bottom of your card as shown, just above the striped DSP. For the finishing touch embellish with one of the fox images cut from the Birthday Memories DSP.
One of my favorite things about this product suite are the die cuts that coordinate with the stamp images AND with the images in the designer series paper pack. That means no more fussy cutting images from your patterned paper! These dies will cut out the images for you! So I simply used the die set to cut out the little fox image I used to embellish the card above. How fun is that?
Besides using the fun die cuts that come in the Birthday Memories Bundle, you can also use other shapes to cut out the images. For this project, I used the largest oval framelit that I had to cut out the little girl surrounded by cupcakes. Now I could have used the little girl die cut from the bundle but I really wanted to keep the circle of cupcakes around her. Creating this card is just as quick and easy as the first one I shared. Start with a piece of Powder Pink cardstock. Stamp a little sentiment in the lower right hand corner of the card using Crumb Cake ink. Grab two doilies and overlap them to create an “oval” shape on your card front. Cut a 1 x 4-1/4 inch strip of the Fresh Floral DSP or a (strip of Powder Pink cardstock) and adhere it across the center of the doilies. For the finishing touch, adhere the oval image of the adorable little girl to the center of the doilies using a few dimensionals. That’s it!
There are 12 images of the little girl on one 12 x 12 inch sheet of DSP and there are two of these sheets in the pack. That means you could make 24 quick and simple cards like this!
