Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! If you are like me, you probably have a variety of heart themed items on your crafting table right now. I have a bunch of different sized hearts cut from many different colors of paper as I have been working on my Valentine’s Day cards. I usually start out with an idea…a vision for how I want the card to look. However, more often than not, I end up completely changing the design once I start to cut the pieces and lay them out on the card front. This usually results in a lot of leftover scraps. Sound familiar?
Well here’s a little challenge for you. Instead of putting the scraps in a drawer, challenge yourself to create something right away with them. One of my favorite ways to use up scrap paper and shapes is simply to layer them together to create a little “collage” of sorts. This particular card that I am sharing with you today was created with some scrap paper and extra hearts that I had cut for a different project but didn’t use.
By challenging myself to use up some of my scraps, I also found a fun new color combination for Valentine’s Day. It’s a win-win! I just love using up scraps, don’t you?
