Year of Cheer

The Year of Cheer Suite has some simply beautiful products that can be used all year long. You can create gorgeous wintry projects for Christmas or even cards for a Wedding.  The elegant foil and intricate designs make these products fabulous for any occasion. For this project, I decided to go with the wintry look.

To make this card, start with a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock for the base. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and emboss the top half with the Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder. To emboss only the top half of your cardstock, simply leave part of it hanging out of the folder; if it’s not in the folder, it won’t be embossed. Cut a 5-1/4 x 2 inch piece of one of the patterns of paper in the new Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Adhere this piece to the lower half of the white cardstock (the part that is not embossed).  Adhere a piece of the silver trim ribbon across the center of the card as shown. Cut out a scalloped square (or other fun shape) to use as a matte for the silver foil snowflake; adhere to the card front as shown. For the finishing touch, stamp a little sentiment on a scrap piece of white cardstock, cut it out with a fun framelit shape and adhere to the foil snowflake with a few dimensionals. Embellish as desired!
