The holidays are my favorite time of the year! It’s a time of celebration. A time to spend with family. It’s a time to for me to reflect upon the year and all of the blessings in my life. The family traditions and festivities are always fun! I look forward to them each and every year! One of my favorite holiday activities is creating handmade Christmas cards. I make a variety of cards ranging from super simple to very detailed. Today, I thought I would share a quick and simple idea with all of you.
This card idea came to me when I was playing around with the Merry Ornaments kit. The little Christmas Trees were left over pieces from creating the ornaments. And you know I can’t throw anything away! To make this card, cut a piece of Garden Green cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 4 x 4-1/4 inch piece of the Christmas tree design from the Be Merry Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack; adhere this piece to the center of the card front. Cut a 1 x 4 inch piece of the small pattern green DSP and adhere to the lower half of the card as shown. Cut a 3/4 x 4 inch piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamp a little sentiment on it. For the finishing touch, embellish a stitched circle with the Christmas tree and adhere to the card, as shown, with dimensionals. Easy peasy!
Now, an alternate design would be to stamp a sentiment in the white circle and eliminate the 3/4 x 4 inch piece of white cardstock. Lots of possibilities here!
