Flowery images and wood grain products seem to work very well together. This past week I showcased a variety of flowery images on the new Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. I found that by adding a white or vanilla flowery embellishment to a card with wood grain paper really makes it pop! The same is true for cards created with different shades of brown…like this card. The little touches of vanilla on this card seem to draw out the images and add just the right touch!
To make this card, start with a piece of Early Espresso (or Chocolate Chip) cardstock. Emboss the front of the card with the new Pinewood Planks embossing folder. Cut a 2-3/4 x 4-1/2 inch piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Stamp the “HELLO” image from the Floral Statements stamp set onto the Crumb Cake cardstock using Early Espresso ink. Sponge a bit of cumb cake ink all over the image as this will give it a rustic or worn look. Color in the petals of the flowers using a white pencil. Tuck a little piece of a doily under the crumb cake cardstock and adhere the entire piece to your card front with a few dimensionals. For the finishing touch, embellish with some pearls!
