Grouted Herringbone Pattern

Hello Stampin’ Friends!  I hope you had an opportunity to join me for the Facebook LIVE session on this past weekend!  I showcased some fun ways to use the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP) including how to create a herringbone pattern, like this one, on your cards.  If you were unable to join me, no worries…the video session was recorded so pop on over to my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/stamptasticdesigns/ and check it out!

This was one of seven different projects that I created with the herringbone pattern. And the pattern on this card is a bit different from the others. You will notice a slight gap in between the pieces of Wood Texture DSP. I wanted to achieve the look of grout in between the pieces of designer paper. I started with a piece of basic gray cardstock cut to 5-1/4 x 4 inches. Each piece of the Wood Textures DSP is 3/4 inch wide and varied in length. As I created the herringbone pattern, I left about a 1/4 inch gap in between the pieces as I adhered them to the cardstock. It created a fun look! Then I simply embellished the card with die cut images from the Seasonal Layers Thinlit set. Super fun and pretty easy to create!  Be sure to check out the video! Enjoy!
