Hello Stampin’ Friends! Today I have a fun project to share with you that showcases the use of scraps. As you know, I have been playing around with some scraps of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP) to create a whole host of herringbone patterns and projects! Well I ended up with very small triangular shaped pieces that, at first, I was just going to throw away. But I played around with the pieces and created these little squares with the Wood Texture DSP. This was definitely one of my favorite creations!
The card is super simple to create! It’s a little putzy to adhere all of the triangular shaped pieces to the squares but well worth it! To make this card, start with a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of one of the light colored patterns of the Wood Textures DSP, stamp a sentiment on the bottom and tie a bit of linen thread around it before adhering it to your card front. Cut out three (3) squares of Cholocate Chip cardstock at 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 inches. Cut a few 1 x 1 inch squares of the Wood Textures DSP; then cut each square diagonally in half and then in half again. Create a pattern with 4 of the small pieces of DSP and adhere them to one of the Chocolate Chip squares. Once you have created 3 of them, layered them across the linen thread as shown and adhere them with a few dimensionals. For the finishing touch, I embellished them with a few flowers cut from some scraps of very vanilla cardstock. Enjoy!
