Thoughts & Prayers

Illness and sorrow are part of everyone’s life. Sometimes it’s difficult to create get well or sympathy cards as they reflect the suffering or loss of someone very special to us. However, a handmade card helps to comfort our friends and family during these difficult times. It’s also a powerful way to send messages of prayer and healing.

This card is one of my favorite creations. It’s soft colors and images send a comforting message. To make this card, start with a piece of Soft Sky cardstock for the base of your card. You can emboss the front of the card or simply leave it plain. The card is beautiful either way. Next, cut a 2-3/4 x 4 inch piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Make yourself a square template that is slightly smaller than the very vanilla cardstock. You will use the square template to sponge some different colors on the vanilla cardstock. I used Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sky for sponging on this project. Once you have sponged a colorful square on the cardstock, stamp the tree and sentiment images using Crumb Cake ink. For the finishing touch, add a bit of ribbon and a little doily.
