A little birdie told me that you were looking for a stamp set that would work great for designing cards for any occasion! So today I want to share a project that features the Best Birds stamp set. There are some beautiful birds images plus a variety of sentiments in this set which are perfect for a variety of occasions! Let your creativity take flight!
While this card might look difficult to make, it was actually quite simple! The Birds & Blooms thinlits coordinate with this stamp set which means you don’t have to cut out anything by hand! Well, unless you want to! To make this card, start with a piece of Soft Sky cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 x 3-3/4 inch piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Stamp the background image, twice, in the center of the vanilla cardstock. Stamp a little sentiment in the uppe right hand corner of the vanilla cardstock using Soft Suede ink. Stamp the bird image on a scrap piece of vanilla cardstock using Soft Suede ink. To color the bird, simply grab a sponge dauber and sponge some So Saffron (yellow) and Soft Sky (light blue) ink on the bird. That’s it! Sponging is such a simple and fun way to add color to images. Note: Sponge daubers work the best because you have the ability to get the ink right where you want it. Stamp the branch image on a scrap piece of crumb cake cardstock. Stamp the flowers on a scrap piece of vanilla cardstock. Cut out all of the images with the coordinating thinlit set and arrange them on your card front as desired. Tuck a bit of copper thread behind the bird before adhering to your card. For the finishing touch, embellish with some pearls!
