Now you can have the look of embossing without the use of heat or a machine! I couldn’t believe it myself! Well, the new embossing paste from Stampin’ Up! allows you to add fun textures to your projects just by spreading the paste over various decorative masks, templates or stencils! It’s a great way to add depth and dimension to any project. Plus you can change the color of the paste simply by adding a drop or two of ink! My first thought when I saw this paste was how easy it would be to add large textured designs to scrapbook pages now…like this design! Although it doesn’t all fit on the card, the entire design would fit perfectly on a scrapbook page.
For this particular project, I decided to use the medallion decorative mask to create a fun background for my card. To use the embossing paste, simply scoop out a little bit of the paste with one of the palette knives and place it on a silicone mat. Silicone mats are perfect for this because it makes clean up easy! The paste is white so you can use it as is or you can add a drop or two of ink to the paste to add color to your textured design. I added a drop of calypso coral ink to mine. Lay the decorative mask over your project and spread the paste across the decorative mask. Once you have the desired look, remove the decorative mask and let dry. The paste dries within minutes so be sure to clean off the decorative mask, knives and mat under warm water.
Then just decorate your project as desired! It’s easy to use and a lot of fun! I see so many possibilities with the embossing paste. You can even create your own templates but cutting out fun designs with some of those detailed thinlits you have on hand. Get creative with it! Enjoy!
