Eastern Palace….Eastern Beauty…Eastern Medallions! Today I want to share a project with you that showcases the versatility of the die set in the Eastern Palace product suite. While the Stampin’ Up! catalog showcases projects using the coordinating colors in the suite, I like to play around with other color combos to create something just a little bit different. The Eastern Palace product suite has a stamp set with coordinating thinlits called Eastern Medallions. These die cuts (thinlits) are absolutely stunning and, in my opinion, are the best part of the product suite. The die cuts can be layered together to create a variety of different medallions…and each one is absolutely gorgeous!
For this particular card, I decided to use a purple and white color combo. Elegant Eggplant cardstock was used for the base of the card. I loved how that deep purple color seemed to really accent the white medallion. The medallion was created with 3 different die cuts, each one nesting within the other. I simply laid the three die cuts, nested within each other, on a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot embossing machine. And…voila…I ended up with a gorgeous medallion that is the focal point of the card. Then I simply used the images from the Eastern Beauty stamp set to add color and accent to the card. My color choices were Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant but you could certainly recreate this with any color combo. For the finishing touch, I embellished it with some twine and rhinestones.
