This year my parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary! I can’t believe it! WOW! Where has the time gone? Since this is such a special milestone, we decided to throw them a surprise anniversary party! We can’t let this special occasion go by unnoticed, right? Their anniversary is July 1st so I knew I had to work fast to get the invitations created and out in the mail. Of course, I had to use the traditional gold color on their invites. I have lots of gold too…gold glimmer paper…gold embossing powder…gold vellum…it seemed like way too many options! So I pulled out all of my gold supplies and began putting together a few different designs. Here’s what I came up with…
I can so much fun creating these! Now that I had designed a few prototypes, I had to choose one of them! I think that was the most difficult decision! Each one of these cards was so pretty and unique. However, I decided to go with the first one! It was the easiest to create and, since I had to make 30 of them, it seemed like the best choice!
Now I mentioned at the beginning of this post that this was a surprise party. Well, unfortunately we had to spoil the surprise when we learned they were planning to go out of town for their anniversary! Whew! Good thing we caught them early enough before they planned the vacation! They will still go out of town…they now plan to do it after the party!
