Hello Stampin’ Friends! Today I have a fun watercolored Easter project to share with all of you! I really love the watercolor look on projects and it was a fun way to showcase the HAPPY embossing folder! This embossing folder is one of two that you receive in the Celebrations Duo Textured Embossing Folder pack.
To make this card, start with a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of Shimmery White Cardstock or Watercolor Paper. Grab your Calypso Coral and So Saffron re-inkers….and an Aqua Painter. You will also need a little painters tray or something to put a few drops of ink on. Start by squeezing a bit of water from the Aqua Painter onto the Shimmery White cardstock and spread it around. Dip the tip of the Aqua Painter in the Calypso Coral ink, hold the tip of the Aqua Painter over the cardstock and squeeze out a bit of water. It will mix in with your ink and dilute it. Then use the Aqua Painter brush to spread the ink around on your cardstock until you achieve the desired watercolor look. Note: the more water you squeeze out the more dilute (and lighter) the ink color will become. Repeat this process with the yellow ink. While the cardstock is still a little moist, emboss the HAPPY across the center. Embossing while the cardstock is moist will prevent crinkles from using a small embossing folder. Let dry. Your cardstock will curl a bit when it’s dry. You can smooth it out with a bone folder or one of your acrylic blocks. Adhere the shimmery white cardstock (or watercolor paper) to your card front using a strong adhesive like the Tear & Tape. Then for the finishing touch, just embellish with some patterned paper, sentiment and a few butterflies.
