Hello Stampin’ Friends! Today is my daughter’s 28th birthday! Wow how time flies! We are going to celebrate with her tonight! And although I’m not going to share the birthday card I created for her (just in case she reads this) I will share a fun little birthday card idea with all of you. This particular card was created with several leftover scraps that I had on my crafting table. My goal this year is to use up my scraps (instead of storing them). 🙂
The card showcases some of the fun color combos and paper from the Party Animal Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. To make this card, start with a piece of Pacific Point cardstock for the base of your card. Now I was using some leftover scrap pieces of the Party Animal DSP so each piece measures about 4-1/2 x 1-1/4 inches. I simply adhered them to the card front as shown; tuck a little doily under the right hand side of the DSP. I ran a few strips of some scrap ribbon down the center of the DSP to cover up the spot in which they overlapped. Stamp the birthday sentiment, using Pacific Point ink, on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut it out with one of your circle framelits; you will need about a 2-1/2 in sized circle. Then cut out a scalloped circle from a piece of Tangerine Tango cardstock to “matte” out your sentiment. To give your card a bit of dimension, stamp the sentiment again on a piece of white cardstock, using Emerald Envy ink, and cut out the “Happier Birthday” section and make a little banner. Adhere this across the circle as shown. It’s a simple way to add two different colored inks to your sentiment! For the finishing touch, embellish with a few metallic enamel shapes! Enjoy!
