Hello Stampin’ Friends! I apologize for the delay in posting…I have been having some technical difficulties the past couple of days! Today I have a fun little z-fold Valentine to share with all of you! Z-fold cards are my favorite type of “fancy fold” card to make because they are quick and simple! Plus you can really decorate them anyway you choose! The key to a z-fold card is deciding what type of “shape” to use on the front of the card. In this case, I used a stitched oval and embellished it with the heart and sentiment.
To make this card, start with a piece of Real Red cardstock for the base of the card. Score the card base at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4 then fold the 2 1/8 section back onto itself. Not sure how to do this…watch my original video on the z-fold at https://stamptasticdesigns.com/2015/05/04/z-fold-card-painted-petals/
Next, cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock at 2 x 5 1/4 and a 1 3/4 x 5 inch piece of heart patterned paper from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper pack. Secure these 2 pieces together and adhere to the flap as shown in this pic. Stamp the “Hello Love” sentiment in black ink onto a scrap piece of white cardstock and cut it out with a small oval from the stitched framelits set. Cut out a heart shape from Real Red cardstock using either a framelit or punch (whatever you have on hand). You could also cut out a heart free-hand (if you don’t have any framelits or punches). Cut out a large black oval with the stitched framelits. Adhere the ovals and heart together, as shown, and secure it to the front flap of the card with some strong adhesive (I recommend the Tear & Tape). Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of Basic Black cardstock and a 5 x 3-3/4 inch piece of Whisper White cardstock for the inside of the card. For the finishing touch, embellish with some metallic enamel shapes. Enjoy!
