Watercolored Love Notes

Hello Stampin’ Friends! Can you believe it’s February already? Wow! Where does the time go?  Valentine’s Day is fast approaching so if you haven’t started working on projects yet, I have a few ideas for you!  Today I want to share another fun project created with the Sealed with Love bundle. Hopefully you had a chance to get your hands on this adorable little bundle of products!  This is such a popular set that they have sold out of their stock!  But don’t worry, it will be coming back and should be available by the end of this month. Even though Valentine’s Day will be over, this particular bundle of products can be used all year long to create some simply adorable cards for any occasion! In the meantime, find a stamp set that has a little heart image and you can easily recreate this card…just without the little love note.

To make this card, start with a piece of pool party cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of shimmery white cardstock. Shimmery white cardstock works perfect for watercoloring. Grab an aqua painter and some pool party ink. Dip the tip of your aqua painter into the pool party ink (don’t use an aqua painter directly on your ink pad). Once you have some ink on the aqua painter, gently squeeze the aqua painter and sweep the brush back and forth across the card to create a watercolored background. Let it dry. Grab the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and stamp the splatter image and the “lines” image randomly on the card using real red ink. Grab a little heart stamp, ink it up with pool party ink, and stamp it in the upper left hand corner of the watercolored background. Keep stamping the heart, without re-inking it, to achieve lighter shades of blue. Then simply embellish the card with a metallic doily and your favorite Valentine or “love themed” sentiment. You could even make this into a birthday card!  Enjoy!
