Hello Stampin’ Friends! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! I have been busy creating a variety of different “love themed” cards that can be used for Valentine’s Day or any other celebration of love. Today’s project was inspired by some stamped images that I had right in front of me on my grid paper. I use a piece of grid paper while I am stamping so that I can practice stamping my images before I put them to a project. I also use grid paper to make sure I don’t get any ink on my craft table. 🙂 Since I was making Valentine’s Day cards, I had a lot of heart images randomly stamped on this paper. That’s when the idea for this card hit me! And I learned that sometimes inspiration is right there in front of me!
To make this card, start with a piece of Pool Party cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock. Find a small heart shaped image; I used the image found in the Sealed with Love stamp set. Start in the upper left hand corner of the white cardstock and, using Pool Party ink, randomly stamp the image diagonally across the card. Use the “stamp off” technique which means you stamp the image and then stamp it again without re-inking. Then switch colors and repeat the stamping process. I used Real Red ink for the second color. Once you have a “spray” of hearts across your card, use the small splatter image, from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, to add some silver embossed speckles. Simply ink up the splatter image with some Versa Mark and stamp the image over the hearts, sprinkle with silver embossing powder, tap off the excess, and heat to set. For the finishing touch, emboss a little sentiment on a scrap piece of pool party cardstock, and adhere to the card with a few dimensionals! Enjoy!
