Avant Garden

Good Morning Stampin’ Friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas weekend with family and friends! The holidays are always my favorite time of year!  This holiday season is special to me as it’s the first time in 20+ years that I have actually been able to have the entire week off of work! And, of course, I plan do to a bit of stampin’ and craftin’ this week! 🙂  So today I have a pretty little project I put together with one of the new Sale-a-bration stamp sets!

Yep, this is a sneak peek for you as Sale-a-bration doesn’t start until January 4, 2017! But I just had to start sharing some of the fun new products that are coming out! And this one of the stamp sets that you can earn for FREE!  Remember, Sale-a-bration is Stampin’ Up!’s biggest sale of the year!  For every $50 you spend on Stampin’ Up! products, you get to choose a Sale-a-bration catalog item for FREE…and of course, I chose this stamp set as one of my FREE items!  In case you are wondering how I ended up with a new stamp set….well…One of the best things about being a demonstrator is that I get to order some fun new catalog items about a month before the new catalog goes live! 🙂

To make this card, start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 inch piece of Mint Macaron and a 3 x 3 inch piece of whisper white cardstock.  Lay the 3 x 3 inch piece of white cardstock on the white card base front. Tip: Put a little adhesive on the back of the 3 x 3 inch piece so it holds it onto the card front as you will be stamping over this layer so you don’t want it to move on you.  Randomly stamp the different images in the Avant Garden stamp set across the card and the 3 x 3 inch layer.  I used the following ink colors:  Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Tip Top Taupe and Mint Macaron.  Once you have the desired design, remove the 3 x 3 inch piece of white cardstock (with the stamped images on it) and adhere it to the 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 inch piece of Mint Macaron cardstock.  Then adhere the matted piece onto your card but be sure to line up the images.  For the finishing touch, embellish with a few pearls! Enjoy!
