Hello Stampin’ Friends! I apologize for the delay in my posting! I was hit with a nasty little flu bug that took me out of my stamping room for days! Thank goodness that’s over with! 🙂 So today I have a fun Christmas card idea for you featuring the Hang Your Stockings bundle! This bundle of products was one of the first items in the holiday catalog that I was attracted to, yet, it is one of the last sets that I actually played with! Not sure how that happened! In any event, it is an adorable set and I had a lot of fun creating this card!
To make this card, start with a piece of Early Espresso cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5-1/4 x 4 inch piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and emboss it with the Brick Wall embossing folder. Tear the top of edge of the Crumb Cake cardstock and sponge a bit of Early Espresso ink on it to give it a bit of a worn look. Cut a 1 x 4 inch piece of some festive holiday paper, such as one of the red prints from the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack and adhere it to the top of the Early Espresso card front. Once the DSP is in place, adhere the embossed crumb cake piece slightly overlapping onto the DSP. Cut a 1/2 x 4 inch piece of Early Espresso cardstock and adhere to the card as shown. It will serve as the “mantel” in which to hang your stocking. Using the Christmas stocking framelits from the bundle, cut out a stocking and the trimmings using real red and whisper white cardstock. You can stamp all of the images such as the holly, berries, stocking trim on some white cardstock and then cut them out with the coordinating framelits in the set. For the finishing touch, I used the new Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut out the oval for the Christmas sentiment and embellished the card with a few rhinestones! Enjoy!
