Good Morning Stampin’ Friends! First of all…Congrats to the Chicago Cubs on winning the World Series! WOW that was an exciting game! I was busy crafting in between plays, of course. 🙂 So today I want to share a fun little project with all of you that was created by accident! I was busy cutting out the word “Noel” with one of the dies from the Christmas Stockings Thinlit set when I decided that I needed to use both pieces…the cut out word and the outline that was left over on the scrap piece of paper I was using. It turned out so pretty that I just had to share it!
To make this card, start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of one of the pretty patterns from the Presents & Pinecones Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack and adhere it to your card front. Cut a 1-3/4 x 5-1/2 inch piece of Emerald Envy cardstock; using the die from the Christmas Stocking Thinlit set, cut out the word “Noel” in the center of the cardstock. Save the Noel cut out for a different project. Cut a 5-1/2 x 1-1/2 inch piece of a red pattern paper from the Presents & Pinecones DSP pack; adhere this piece behind the Noel. Cut a 2 x 5-1/2 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and adhere the Noel piece on top (the white cardstock serves as a matte). For the finishing touch, embellish the card with anything that you have on hand! I used some pine branches and a little bow that I cut from some cherry cobbler and mint macaron cardstock using the Pretty Pines Thinlit Die set. Did you happen to notice that no stamping was involved! Yikes! But it sure was fun to play with a few different die cuts. Enjoy!
