Good Morning Stampin’ Friends! Happy Friday! Today I have a little vintage style card to share with all of you. As you might know, vintage style cards are one of my favorite projects to create. I just love the antique look that you can achieve with just a bit of sponging and tearing of cardstock. This particular vintage style card showcases the new Touches of Texture stamp set. There are lots of fun images to play with in this set. The images are perfect for creating subtle vintage backdrops for your project. Let’s take a closer look at how to create this card.
Start with a piece of crumb cake cardstock for the base of your card. Randomly stamp some of the textured images onto the card front using crumb cake ink. When you use the same color ink as your cardstock it adds a subtle but pretty little background. Sponge the edges of the card with crumb cake ink. Cut a 2-3/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock. Stamp the flower and stem images on the cardstock using crumb cake ink. Fill in your flower by stamping the solid flower image using pink pirouette ink. Randomly stamp a few smaller pink flowers on the cardstock. Tear the bottom of the white cardstock, as shown, and sponge a bit of crumb cake ink all the way around the outer edges. Sponging gives you the vintage look. Cut a 1 x 4 inch piece of pink pirouette cardstock, tear one end and adhere it on the right hand side of the white cardstock as shown. Cut a paper doily into 4 pieces…sponge one of the pieces with crumb cake ink and tuck it under the top part of the white cardstock. Secure the entire piece to your card front using snail adhesive. Cut a 3/4 x 2 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and stamp a little sentiment on it and sponge the edges using crumb cake ink; adhere it to your card, as shown, with dimensionals. For the finishing touch, add a few pearls.
