Floral Affection

Love Blossoms

Good Morning!  Happy Tuesday! Did you get any crafting done this weekend?  It was so gorgeous outside that it I just couldn’t do any crafting during the day…but, of course, there was plenty of time in the evenings to get busy crafting! I have been playing around with some of the new catalog products while also using up some of the retiring ones.  This particular card has a mix of new catalog products and some of the retiring ones…can you guess which product is new? If you guessed the embossed flower, you were right!  The new embossing folder is called Floral Affection and it has two different embossing folders in it. And, of course, they are gorgeous! Let’s take a look at how to make this card…

Start with a piece of rose red cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and punch out the top two corners using the curvy corner trio punch. Emboss the center of the cardstock with one of the Floral Affection embossing folders…I know, I am teasing you a bit since you can’t order from the new catalog yet. But you will be able to on June 1, 2016! Sponge some blushing bride ink all over the embossed image and adhere the entire white piece to your card front. Grab a few scrap pieces of the love blossoms designer series paper and cut them to 1 x 4 inches (pretty flower pattern) and 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 x 4 inches (rose red pattern). You can cut the rose red pattern a little bigger if you want more of the pattern to show behind the flowers.  Adhere the two pieces together and then adhere them to the bottom of your white cardstock as shown.  Stamp a little sentiment on the top of the white cardstock using sahara sand ink. For the finishing touch, add an elegant butterfly embellished with some pearls. Enjoy!
