Going Places

going globalGood Morning! Today I have a fun masculine card idea to share with all of you.  As I mentioned in previous posts, I have been involved in some card swaps this month.  I have already shared some of the fabulous cards I received with a bride or baby theme.  Well this card is one that I designed for a masculine card swap.  Masculine cards are not necessarily the easiest type of cards to design. I’m not sure why that it is. Maybe it’s because much of the stamping products and paper crafting supplies out there are geared toward designing beautiful, adorable and girlie type projects! 🙂

This particular card showcases some fun products from the going global product suite.  The colors and patterns in the designer series paper are perfect for masculine style cards.  Plus, the stamp set has some great masculine images.  To make this card, start with a piece of basic black card stock for the base of your card. Cut 3 strips of 3 different patterns from the Going Places Designer Series Paper Pack; cut the strips at 5 1/2 x 1 inches each. Adhere the strips to the front of your card as shown.  Cut a 1 3/4 x 4 1/4 inch piece of lost lagoon card stock and emboss it with the lucky stars embossing folder.  Cut a 2 x 4 1/4 inch piece of basic black and matte out the lost lagoon piece; adhere to the center of your card as shown. Stamp the compass image on a piece of hello honey card stock using black in; punch out the image with the 2 inch circle punch. Stamp a the lucky stars sentiment on a scrap piece of white or vanilla card stock using black ink; punch out the image with the 1 inch circle punch. Punch out a 1 1/4 inc circle to matte out your sentiment. Adhere both images to your card as shown. For the finishing touch, embellish the compass with a little neutral candy dot. Enjoy!
