One of my favorite things about my Stampin’ Up! team is how caring and giving they are. Each month we work on projects to support our community. For the past several months, we have worked on projects to support Honor Flights for our American Veterans. An Honor Flight is conducted by non-profit organizations dedicated to transporting as many United States Military Veterans as possible to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials of the respective war(s) they fought. These non-profit organizations raise money to provide this flight at no cost to the Veterans. It is such an honor and a privilege for our Stampin’ Up! group to also provide each Veteran with a handmade card thanking them for their countless sacrifices and service to our country. This community project has a very special meaning to one of our Stampin’ Up! team members as well. Unfortunately, her father passed away before he was able take an Honor Flight. So providing handmade cards to the local Honor Flight organization is her way to honor her father and the service he gave to our great nation!
The handmade cards for the Honor Flight program have been so well received! This month we will be providing over 248 handmade cards for our veterans that will be taking this flight. I am so inspired by this program that I spent a bit of time this past weekend making over 50 cards to support our veterans. I made a variety of different designs using the Going Global Designer Series Paper pack. There were so many wonderful world map images in that paper pack that I thought would be fitting for our veterans. Each handmade card has a little hero quote and a BIG thank you for everything they have done for our country.
I hope they enjoy the Honor Flight and feel our outpouring of support with contained in each handmade card. God Bless the men and women in our military! And God Bless America!
