Good Morning! Today we are going to focus on a masculine style project created with some fun new products in the Going Global product suite. You will also learn a fun way to add background color to your embossed images (and it doesn’t involve sponging). This particular project was created for a Birthday Bash event that I held during the month of January! Let’s take a look at how to make this card.
Start with a piece of sahara sand cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of basic black cardstock and a 5 x 3 3/4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock. Grab the World Traveler embossing folder, a brayer and some lost lagoon ink. Ink up the brayer with the lost lagoon ink and roll the ink onto the inside of the embossing folder over the raised globe images (see pic). It’s the inside of the embossing folder that has the Sizzix label on it. Next, lay the 5 x 3 3/4 inch piece of white cardstock inside the embossing folder, close the folder and run it through your embossing machine. The continents will remain white and the “water” surrounding the continent will pick up the lost lagoon (blue) ink. Pretty cool, hey? Then just embellish the card with a few pieces of the going places designer paper, ribbon, antique brad and a little sentiment. Enjoy!
