Love Blossoms Series ~ Project #8

Love Blossoms Card 2I hope you are enjoying all of the projects being showcased in the Love Blossoms Series!  Here is project #8.  This particular project showcases some fun ways to use the pretty patterned papers that come in the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack.  I was drawn to the pretty flower bunch patterns as I thought they would make great embellishments! The most time consuming part of making this card is that you have to “fussy” cut the flower bunches out of the patterned paper so you can use them as embellishments.  But that little bit of fussy cutting is worth it!

To make this card, start with a piece of crumb cake cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of one of the small pink patterns in the Love Blossom DSP. Cut a 5 1/4 x 1 1/4 inch piece of one of the crumb cake patterns (I used the one with the hearts); adhere this piece across the center of the pink DSP. Add a gold foil heart doily from the Love Blossoms embellishment kit to the center of the DSP as shown. Then embellish!  You will be embellishing the heart doily with some of the pretty flower bunches that you will fussy cut from a piece of the Love Blossoms DSP. Simply cut out some of your favorite flower bunches and adhere them to the gold heart with dimensionals. Tip:  You don’t have to cut out the flowers exactly…simply cut out around them leaving a little bit of white space. Next, stamp the banner image from the Bloomin’ Hearts stamp set using rose red ink. Stamp a little sentiment on the banner using crumb cake ink. Cut out the banner, by hand, or use the coordinating framelit. Adhere the banner in the center of the gold heart doily. For the finishing touch, punch out a few small hearts from a piece of the rose red DSP and adhere to the card. Enjoy!
