Good Morning! It’s Christmas week! Wow, where did the time go? I am still busy making cards and wrapping presents, how about you? This particular card was inspired by Michelle Reynolds and her adorable candy cane punch art card I saw on Pinterest. It’s a super great way to use your circle punches or framelits. I used a 1 inch circle punch but you can really make the candy cane as big or small as you like simply by choosing a different size punch or framelit! Let me give you some instructions on how to re-create this card.
Start with a piece of garden green cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and emboss it with the Boughs & Holly embossing folder. Lightly sponge some garden green ink all over the raised embossed area. Punch out 10 red circles and 9 white circles from cardstock; using a 1 inch circle punch (or any size that you have on hand). I started from the bottom and layered them on top of each other, alternating colors, until I achieved something that looked like a candy cane. You can add as many colored circles as you need to in order to achieve the desired look. Once you have the candy cane laid out, secure the individual pieces together with glue dots. Stamp a little Christmas sentiment on the card using garden green ink. For the finishing touch, embellish the candy cane with a bit of ribbon tied in a bow. Enjoy!
