This is one of my favorite Christmas cards designed by my daughter, Tiffany! It showcases the “Your Presents” stamp set and a bit of watercoloring. Now you can watercolor the background or sponge it with color. Isn’t it just adorable?! Let’s take a closer look at how to make this!
Start with a piece of old olive cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and round the corners with a punch (optional). Grab an aqua painter and fill it will water. In a little dish, add some old olive ink. Dip the tip of your aqua painter into the old olive ink, then starting in the middle of your white cardstock, squeeze a bit of water out of the aqua painter as you spread the ink around on your paper. Continue this process until you achieve the desired look. Set aside to dry. You can also sponge color onto the background (which is a quicker process as you don’t have drying time).
While you are waiting for the project to dry, stamp a few presents and bows from the “Your Presents” stamp set onto some scrap white cardstock. Stamp one in cherry cobbler (or your favorite red color) and one in silver. You can either emboss the silver present or use some of the silver metallic ink (which ever one you have on hand). Stamp the “joy” sentiment using old olive ink. Cut these images out by hand and set aside. Once the project has dried, stamp some of the splatter images from the gorgeous grunge stamp set all over the watercolored background. Add a bit of silver cording, looped as shown, to the top part of your white cardstock (secure it with a few glue dots). Add a few glue dots to your presents and adhere them to the card as shown. For the finishing touch, add the joy sentiment and embellish it with a rhinestone. Enjoy!
