Good Morning! Today I have a fall themed project to share with you. It showcases the beautiful images found in the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set as well as a bit of watercoloring with aqua painters. Let’s take a look at how to recreate this.
Start with a piece of crumb cake cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of cajun craze cardstock and adhere it to the front of the crumb cake cardstock. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of very vanilla cardstock and randomly stamp some of the leaf images using versamark You will be embossing the leaves). Sprinkle some gold embossing powder over the images, tap off the excess, and use a heat tool to set. Tear the top and bottom of the cardstock as shown. Grab a few different colored re-inkers: old olive, cajun craze, hello honey and crumb cake. Add water to your aqua painter. Put a few drops of each color ink in a little painter’s tray. Dip your aqua painter into the different inks, one at a time, and drip the ink onto your cardstock. Tip: After dipping the dip of your aqua painter in ink, slightly squeeze it so that the water inside the painter mixes with the ink on the tip…allow it to drip onto your project. You can also use the tip of your aqua painter to spread out the ink and water a bit on your cardstock. Play around with the watercoloring technique until you achieve the desired look. Let dry and adhere to your card. For the finishing touch, emboss a little sentiment on a piece of cardstock or crepe paper and embellish with some of those autumn wooden elements. Enjoy!
