Good Morning! I have another fun washi tape card design for you today! This particular design was inspired by a pretty card, created by Mariana Grigsby, which I found on Pinterest. Now it’s actually much easier to create this than it may look. Check out Mariana’s video tutorial for easy step by step instructions. She used an exacto knife but I just used one of the blades of my paper snips to cut the washi tape. 🙂
To make this card, start with a piece of bermuda bay cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock. Stamp 2 candles from the Build a Birthday stamp set in the upper left hand corner of the white cardstock. I used inks that coordinate with my washi tape: watermelon wonder, bermuda bay and delightful dijon. Once you have stamped the candles, start layering your washi tape from the bottom up. I started on the left side and alternated 3 different patterns of the Cherry on Top Washi Tape. I highly encourage you to watch Mariana’s video so that you get the hang of how to build your layers. It’s a lot of fun and makes great use of your washi tape! Once you have all of the washi tape layers added, stamp a little sentiment, using black ink, as shown. For the finishing touch, add a few rhinestones to the flames of the candles! Enjoy!
