My daughter and I are nurses at a local community hospital. One of the many wonderful things we do at the hospital is to provide handmade cards and “heart” ornaments to grieving families in their time of need. My daughter is in charge of designing the cards that are given out to families after the loss of a loved one. This past weekend she designed this beautiful card with the Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set. A simple card with such a profound meaning.
To make this card, start with a piece of hello honey cardstock and emboss the front with your favorite embossing folder…in this case, she used the new Softly Falling textured embossing folder. Cut a 5 1/4 x 3 inch piece of the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper (DSP) and a 3 x 4 inch piece of basic black. Secure the basic black piece directly across the center of the card then layer the DSP over the top of the black piece as shown. Cut a 2 x 3 inch piece of very vanilla cardstock and stamp one of the sentiments from the Heartfelt sympathy set on the cardstock…use hello honey ink to coordinate with the cardbase. Or, you can also stamp the sentiment in black for a bolder look. Sponge a bit of hello honey ink around the edges of the cardstock and secure to the card, as shown, with dimensionals. For the finishing touch, add a few pearls.
