Today I have a fun project to share with all of you which showcases the emboss resist technique. This technique involved heat embossing and sponging. It has been awhile since I have used this technique and so I wanted to remind you of how simple it is to use this technique to add some soft colors to enhance your embossed images. Plus, the projects turn out absolutely beautiful when you emboss and sponge colors over the images. To make this card, start with a piece of whisper white cardstock for the base of your card. Grab your heat tool, versa mark and some white embossing powder. Using versa mark, stamp the large beautiful flower images, from the Timeless Love stamp set, in the corners of your white card front as shown. Sprinkle white embossing powder all over the versa mark images and tap off the excess. Then heat to set. Once your images are heat set you can begin to sponge some color over the top of them. I typically sponge color on and around the image as it gives a shadow effect and highlights the embossing. The ink won’t stick to your embossed images, it will only stick to the cardstock around and in between the image. Once you have finished sponging you can blot your images with a tissue to pick up any excess ink. For this particular project, I used wisteria wonder which is one of my favorite colors to use for the emboss resist technique. For the centerpiece, I simply stamped a beautiful sentiment and cut out a wisteria wonder cardstock matte with the Deco Label Framelits. And, of course, for the finishing touch I added a little elegant butterfly embellished with some pearls. Enjoy!
