Sketched Dots Gift Bag

sketched dots tag a bagGood Morning!  Today I thought I would change things up a bit with a little gift bag project. Stampin’ Up! has some adorable little gift bags that you can decorate and I love decorating my gift bags just as must as I love making cards!  Handmade packaging coupled with a handmade card can make quite the statement!  So let’s take a look at what you need to get started.

This particular gift bag is called Sketched Dots and is available in a pack of 10 through Stampin’ Up! Yes, 10! You can make them all the same or make each one different.  The choice is yours! So for this particular project, start with one polka dot bag. Take a paper doily and sponge some wisteria wonder ink all over it. Grab a silver foil doily and secure it in the center of the paper one. Fold the top of the polka dot over and then fold the top part of the doilies over the top of the bag. Adhere the top part of the paper doily to the top part of the bag (make sure you adhere it in such a way that you are still able to open the bag). Next, grab a scrap piece of white paper and stamp the “You’re fabulous” image on it using elegant eggplant ink…punch out the image with the scalloped circle. Note:  You will end up punch off some of the letters of the sentiment but that’s ok…we will fix it!  Grab another scrap piece of paper stamp the “you’re fabulous” sentiment using wisteria wonder ink…cut it down so that you only have the sentiment showing (about 1/2 inch wide) then make the ends into a little pennant and adhere onto the scalloped circle with dimensionals. Adhere the entire scalloped circle piece to the center of the silver doily on your bag. For the finishing touch, add a little elegant butterfly in the corner and embellish with rhinestones. You can also add a little decorative clip to the top of the bag to keep it closed or simply fill the bag and tie it closed with some baker’s twine or ribbon. Enjoy!
