Good Morning! Today I have a beautiful butterfly project to share with all of you. The project showcases the new watercolor wings bundle and the “fluttering” textured embossing folder. This design was inspired by all of the suggestions posted on my facebook page…so thank you everyone! Let’s take a closer look at how to make this project.
Start with a piece of smoky slate cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of white white cardstock and embossing it with the fluttering textured embossing folder. Sponge a bit of pink pirouette ink all over the embossed butterflies. Add a piece of sahara sand lace trim across the center of the white embossed piece. Grab the watercolor wings stamp set and a piece of whisper white cardstock. You will be using 3 different stamps to create this one butterfly. Stamp the outer wings with smoky slate ink, the inner background color of the butterfly with pink pirouette and then the finally overlay using melon mambo. Cut out the butterfly image using the coordinating framelit (which comes in the bundle). Use a piece of blushing bride (or pink pirouette) cardstock for the detailed center butterfly. Cut it out with the coordinate framelit in the bundle. Layer the 2 butterflies together with dimensionals and embellish the center with a rhinestone. Find a thing piece of scrap glimmer paper and adhere it behind the butterflies. Grab some silver metallic thread and add “loops” of thread behind the butterfly (I used some glue dots for this). Adhere the entire butterfly to the card front with dimensionals. For the finishing touch, add a little banner sentiment or just leave it as is. Enjoy!
