You’ve Got This ~ Emboss Resist

embossed you got thisToday I have another fun card design to share with you that showcases the beautiful flower image from the You’ve Got This stamp set.  It’s a pretty popular set as I have seen a variety of projects out on Pinterest.  The first thing I thought of when I saw this set was how beautiful the image would look embossed! And it sure does! I used a simple technique called emboss resist. Basically you emboss your image in white on a piece of white cardstock and then sponge color on and around it. The color doesn’t stick to the embossed image so you are left with a beautiful white flower on a background of soft, subtle color.

It’s one of my favorite techniques! So let’s take a closer look at how to make this particular card. Remember, you can change out the colors (you don’t have to use purples).  Start with a piece of wisteria wonder for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of elegant eggplant and a 5 x 3 3/4 inch piece of whisper white. Ink up the flower image using versa mark and stamp it on the white cardstock. Sprinkle some white embossing powder over the versa mark and tap off the excess. Use an embossing heat tool to set the image (simply heat up the powder until you end up with a shiny finish). Now grab a sponge and dab it into your wisteria wonder ink pad. Use a light touch and a circular motion to sponge ink on and around your flower until you achieve the desired look. Cut a 1 x 4 inch piece of elegant eggplant and emboss a sentiment on it using white embossing powder. For the finishing touch, add a little butterfly and some pearls. Enjoy!
