Vintage Traveler

traveler trainOne of my favorite projects from this past weekend was this vintage masculine style card! The project showcases the traveler stamp set, a great set for making more masculine themed cards! It’s very easy to make vintage style projects…simply sponge a bit of soft suede or crumb cake ink on the project to give it a worn look.  Let’s take a closer look at how to make this card.

Start with a piece of soft suede for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of naturals ivory and emboss it with the arrows embossing folder. Sponge some soft suede ink all over the embossed cardstock. Cut a piece of the typset designer paper at 4 x 4…tear the top of the paper and sponge it with some soft suede ink. You can also stamp some of the fun images from the traveler set onto the paper. Secure the paper to your card. Run a piece of the naturals chevron ribbon across the card to cover up the bottom of your typset paper. Cut a 3 x 3 inch piece of soft suede and a 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inch piece of naturals ivory cardstock. Stamp the train image (or one of the other images) onto the ivory cardstock using early espresso ink. Stamp a little sentiment as well; I used one of the sentiments from the Petite Pairs set. Sponge some soft suede on the cardstock to give it a worn look. For the finishing touch, add a little candy dot on the ribbon. Enjoy!
