Butterflies are my absolute favorite images and embellishments for cards. They are always at the top of my wish list! The butterfly basics bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s Spring Occasions Catalog is absolutely GORGEOUS! And this little bundle has been a hot commodity in the stampin’ world! In fact, it has been so popular that Stampin’ Up! ran out of sets so we couldn’t order them for weeks! But the good news is that the butterfly basics bundle is coming back tomorrow! Yes, you can order it again on April 15th! WAHOO!! So now I can start sharing all of the beautiful project ideas you can create with this set! Like this one…To make this card, start with a piece of very vanilla cardstock for the base of the card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of crumb cake cardstock…this is the piece that you will do all of the stamping on. Grab those beautiful images from the butterfly basics stamp set and some crumb cake ink. I used the same color ink as the paper so that I could achieve a subtle background for this project. Once I stamped all of the background images, I did stamp the sentiment in early espresso ink as I wanted that to stand out a bit more from the background. To embellish the card, simply cut a few strips of venetian crochet trim and the naturals chevron ribbon. Secure these pieces to the front of your card as shown and then wrap the ribbon around to the back of the crumb cake cardstock…then secure the entire crumb cake piece to your very vanilla card base. For the finishing touch, use one of the thinlits and cut out a beautiful butterfly with early espresso cardstock, adhere it with a glue dots and embellish with a few pearls! Beautiful, hey? Enjoy!
