Sheltering Tree ~ Masculine Style

sheltering treeIf you are a Pinterest fan then you have probably seen tons of card designs using the new sheltered tree stamp set. Well…here’s one more design to add to your collection!  This stamp set has such a beautiful and very versatile tree image. You might recall seeing a few of the “heart” tree projects I put together for Valentine’s day…if not, be sure to check them out on this site!

For this particular project, I decided to focus on a more masculine look. Start with a piece of old olive cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of early espresso cardstock and emboss it with the woodgrain embossing folder. Cut a 4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock…this is the piece you will do all of your stamping on. I recommend that you start by stamping your sentiment on the bottom using the early espresso ink. Next, stamp the trunk of the tree. I actually used 2 different color green inks to stamp the other images.  I recommend using the old olive to match your cardstock and then using pear pizazz which is a tad lighter to give your tree a bit of contrast. Once your stamping is complete, simply adhere the 4 x 4 piece to your cardstock with a few dimensionals. Enjoy!
