Lovely Lace ~ Embossing Technique

sponged dry embossingLooking for different ways to use your pretty patterned embossing folders? Well I have a quick and simple project idea to share with all of you today! There are so many fun patterned embossing folders that it just makes sense to highlight them, right? Right! This fun project idea was inspired by one of my team members, Julie Lulich! Thanks Julie! So let’s take a closer look at how to put together this project.

Start with a piece of blushing bride cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and emboss it with the Lovely Lace embossing folder. Grab some of your sponge daubers, a few different ink colors and start sponging color onto the raised images. Daubers work the best for this project because you can be a bit more precise with your sponging. The colors showcased on this card are wisteria wonder, pistachio pudding, blushing bride and so saffron. For the finishing touch, I added a little sentiment punched out with the 1 1/4 inch scalloped circle. Oh…and I did a little paper piercing around the scallops. Quick, simple and beautiful! Enjoy!
