Have you joined the monthly Paper Pumpkin program yet? Well take a look at what you are missing! This month’s kit is called Sew You and it contained all of the materials you need to create 9 fun little cards. Now this month’s kit involved a bit of sewing! While I love the look of stitching on cards, I decided to only stitch one. The rest of the cards I used a yellow marker to highlight the “YOU.” Pretty sneaky hey? 🙂 Can you tell which one I stitched?I love the project ideas that come in each kit but I also enjoy challenging myself a bit to come up with alternative ideas. So this month, I put together a few alterative projects using some of the yellow sale-a-bration paper and a few other embellishments that I can on hand.
One of my favorite creations was the fun little mini journal or scrapbook. You could probably use it for either purpose. I used the cardboard packing materials that came in the kit to design the front and back cover of this book. I cut the cardboard down to 4 1/4 x 5 3/4 inches and then covered it with some yellow sale-a-bration paper. I also cut out some 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch pieces of cardstock for the inside of the book (you can cut as many as you like depending on how big you would like the book to be). I punched 3 holes in the left side of the cardboard and used the embroidery floss to hold everything together. Then, I simply decorated the cover with the fun materials that came in this month’s kit. Oh…and I did add a few of my own supplies like a paper doily, blue ribbon and a little button.
Here are some of the other fun projects from this month’s kit:
