Sheer perfection designer vellum is one of the 4 new products Stampin’ Up! added to this year’s Sale-a-bration. There are 24 sheets ~ 12 different designs in this paper pack and you can get it FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration! And it is well worth it! I have been busy playing around with it and I have a couple of fun project ideas to share with you today.
Vellum is a light weight translucent paper product which is perfect for adding or showing off colors. Let me show you what I mean. For this first little project (pictured above), I used a 2 x 4 inch piece of vellum over the top of some yellow polka dot papers. The vellum flower pattern looks just gorgeous with that little bit of yellow color and the polka dots behind it.
The second project uses the same concept except this time I covered the entire piece of yellow designer paper with the vellum.
To make these cards, simply cut a piece of yellow patterned paper to 3 x4 inches. Cut a 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch piece of black cardstock for a matte. Layer all of the pieces together as shown and add a little sentiment and flower for an embellishment. You can use any patterned paper color…you don’t have to use yellow.
The third project I have is for all of you out there that just love coloring! Yes, you can color the vellum! It’s a little putzy but you end up with simply stunning results. Let’s take a look…
To make the card (pictured on the left), cut a piece of vellum to 5 1/4 x 4 inches. On the backside of the vellum, color in the flowers with your stampin’ write markers. You want to color on the backside of the vellum so that you don’t see all of your coloring lines. I used three different colors on this particular card but you can choose as many or as few colors as you like! Enjoy!
