Lotus Blossom

lotus blossomToday I have a fun little spring project to share with all of you! With all of the snowy and cold weather we are having in Wisconsin this year, design flowery spring projects reminds me that spring is right around the corner!  The project I have for you today showcases a 3 step stamp called Lotus Blossom. And this particular stamp set is not for sale but…it is one of the FREE items that you can choose with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration. So let’s take a closer look at this project.

To make this card, start with a piece of soft sky cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of whisper white cardstock and emboss it with that fun polka dot embossing folder! Cut a 5 1/4 x 2 inch piece of one of the flowery patterns from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper pack. Cut a 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 inch piece of soft sky cardstock and a 2 x 3 inch piece of whisper white. Grab the 3 different flower images from the Lotus blossom stamp set. Each image is labeled 1, 2 and 3. And, each image has an arrow on the top. Use that arrow to guide placement of the image. The arrow should always point in the same direction…I have it point towards the top of my project so that I can use that as a mark to align all 3 of the stamped images.  For this project, I used only one color ink…daffodil delight…to stamp all 3 images. Start with image 1 and stamp it on the white paper with the arrow pointing to the top of your paper. Stamp the second image over the top of the first, using the arrow as your guide. Then stamp the 3rd image over the top of the other two. The 3rd image is the “fill” image as it will color in the remainder of your flower. Once you have stamped your flower, simply stamp one of the stem images and a little sentiment. It takes a little bit of practice to use this new 3 step stamp set but the results are just simply stunning once you get the hang of it! Enjoy!
