Vintage Butterfly

artisan embellishments 11This is, by far, my favorite creation this month!  A vintage style card made with the Butterfly Basics bundle and materials from the Artisan Embellishment kit. There is just something so elegant about vintage style projects and this one was super simple and fun to make! Wanna re-create it? Well here is what you need to do…

Start with a piece of blushing bride cardstock for the base of your card. Cut a 3 x 4 inch piece of the Typeset Designer Series Paper (DSP) or stamp your own “paper” with the Dictionary background stamp. Cut a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of crumb cake cardstock and tear it on an angle as shown.  It’s the torn look that really accents this card. Stamp some of the vintage images from the Butterfly Basics stamp set using crumb cake ink. Punch out a decorative label from the Typeset DSP. Cut a little piece of a paper doily from the Artisan Embellishment kit. Stamp the adorable little butterfly, in blushing bride ink, on a scrap piece of very vanilla paper and cut it out with the coordinating framelit. Sponge a bit of crumb cake ink on all of these pieces:  the crumb cake cardstock, butterfly, decorative label, DSP, and paper doily. The sponging gives everything a worn or tattered look. Once all of your sponging is complete, then layer all of the pieces as shown.  Tie a bit of linen thread around the crumb cake cardstock before your secure the butterfly. Enjoy!
